Hi! My name is Aaron Brünger and I am the web master, host and owner of this site and the other sites listed below. The 14 web site addresses are hosted on four different servers. Whilst 8 are currently acting as holding pages and one is dormant, the remaining five have active content on them. Clicking on any of the holding pages will inform visitors that they are on a holding page. I have listed the three main operational web sites on the holding page and unlike some sites that whisk you away to alternative sites, I have given the visitor the choice which, in the long run I think is the better option. The last web site is currently not in use and only shows a holding page for the ISP.
Whilst only some of the addresses are active, (albeit you can select any one of the URL’s above and be taken to that site), it is my intention to populate all of them over the course of the next year or two.(currently 2009).
Therefore, in due course each web site URL will serve a specific function and the link to this web site will be changed to that function. As these changes are implemented, they will be displayed and explained within these pages.
Hopefully you arrived here through a link from another site or by using one of the many search engines now available or by recommendation from another collector. Anyway, which ever way you arrived, I'm glad that you are here.
It has taken a lot of time and hard work to produce this site for fellow collectors and strangers alike and it will continue to take a lot of time and hard work to keep it up to date. However, I think every moment has been and will continue to be worth it.
The site has a permanent home and is located on two separate web host servers. As explained above, overall, there are 4 web hosts servers albeit the Home of Phillumeny is hosted on two. This web site is hosted by 1 and 1 whilst the mirror site http://www.matchboxlabels.org is hosted by Pulse. Both use state of the art servers, have a generous web space and high monthly traffic allowances.
Naturally, Rome wasn't built in a day and this equally applies to this web site. Updates are being regularly uploaded and will gradually increase the amount of material available for viewing over the next few months. You are asked to take your time to explore all that the site has to offer and please let me know if there is anything else you would like me to include for the benefit of everyone.
Whilst there will be an area of the site that will display labels from within my own collection, the major difference between this site and many others on the Internet is that I have designed the site primarily as a 'Place of Reference' for everything relating to matchbox labels for which the collective terminology is "Phillumeny".
Hopefully in time, it will cover every aspect of the hobby, but this can only happen with the help and assistance of fellow collectors who I actively encourage to input their knowledge and expertise.
From a collecting perspective I am very much a novice to the hobby having been a serious collector for only about 14 years. However, with my clerical skills I honed as a Chief Clerk in the Armed Forces and my compulsory retirement from work on medical grounds, I believe I have the ability and time to produce and maintain a web site that will be of benefit to everyone who is 'hooked' on the hobby and also for those who are curious and who could well be the next generation of collectors.
I will be the first to admit that I am by no means an 'expert' in any area of Phillumeny, but I do have a fair working knowledge of the subject and I am aware of those who 'are the experts'!! It is those experts that I respectfully call upon to help me in building the site, not in a physical sense as I am more than capable of that, but by imparting their expertise and knowledge of the subject so that others can benefit from it in the long term

Suggestion: So that you don't miss out, why not save the web site addresses of my active web sites in your Favourites or Bookmarks folder. That way, the web sites are but a click away.
As I'm sure you are aware, there are numerous match related web sites on the internet. Whilst some are quite small and just cover an individuals personal collection, some are large and display many pages of labels. What is noticeable about them all is the effort and commitment that is or was put into the hobby to make those web sites. However, what is a shame is that some of the sites were made a number of years ago and nothing has been changed or updated.
By building this web site and the others, I'm hoping to address that particular issue. It is my wish and intention that Sussex Matchbox Labels, and the other web site addresses within the Group will become synonymous with the hobby of Phillumeny.
The sites are being set up to encourage feedback from their visitors. In addition, because of the facilities offered to me by my web server host, I will be able to set up a Free Newsletter Subscription Service to keep visitors informed as to changes that are taking place on the web sites. This will also be another way of attracting new collectors as I am hoping that existing collectors will impart their expertise in a series of articles?
My web sites are for you, the visitor, so I actively encourage you to make comments about the site (good or bad) and especially for any improvements that can be made or for any other subjects that could be included.
Please come by often as this site and others in the group are regularly updated with new material. The information relating to the numerous club and society meetings, latest finds, topical features and many other items are continually being added to.
As these are active web sites, new pages are constantly being added, others amended, rearranged and in some cases, deleted.
During this process, page names within the web sites may also change. It is therefore very important that you do not bookmark or save individual pages within the web sites as their names could have been altered during an upgrade or even deleted.
The only permanent page on any of the web sites is the opening page which is always recorded as index.html. However, because of the way web site addresses are constructed, it is unnecessary to point your web browser further than the physical name of the web site as the default address will always be activated when selecting a domain web site address.
If it is your practice to keep manual written records of web site addresses, then the addresses listed at the top of this page are the ones you need to make a note of!!
